Well it's been busy few weeks with the holidays upon us. For me that means visiting with family. We're a big noisy bunch, and while it's crazy we usually have a good time. For me focusing around this time of year can be a little difficult. I love to bake all kinds of goodies even though I shouldn't eat them.

So fighting off the temptation I've been doing a few other things. First is on the writing front. I'm tweaking a few stories. One is almost ready for release the other is almost ready to head off to editing. I had a comment I was going to make about editing, but I've decided to save that for another time and keep this post positive. I'm working on two new series for 2016 and a couple ideas brewing.

That takes me to the other thing I've been working on. Planning out the next year. I bought a planner and some notebooks, and I even went so far on this that a took a few course to help me find a direction I feel good with. It was big help with finding my biggest time sucks and deciding how to avoid them. I also learned a lot about what I think was missing. I'm ready to implement everything starting January 1st, but I'll be honest and say I've already started.

Now I have goals I fully intend to complete and I made a wish list of things that I would like to see happen. Indie, or self-publishing, whatever you want to call it isn't easy. There are a lot of components to the process. Writing, marketing, hiring editors (again will post more about this another time), getting good cover art, and tracking everything to make sure none of the balls drop. I do most of the admin type stuff during the day and focus on writing at night. Of course other than hiring editors and getting covers made even if you're with a publisher you still need to market yourself and your books and track all your attempts.

So post topics coming soon: editing, marketing, planning, and networking.

I'm a contemporary romance and romantic comedy author. My stories vary in heat levels from sweet to sizzling, but hopefully they all have a hint of humor. If you enjoy family and friend based series then you've found the right author.
